What draws you as an Artist to the place you call home?

Atlantic Canada is scattered with the family, friends, weather, landscapes, and cultures that inspire me... all these things contribute to making it home. The outdoor adventures are countless, with miles of the most incredible coastlines wrapping breathtaking interiors, it’s easy to complain about the days you can not get yourself outside to enjoy it.

With so many, tea rooms, resorts, shops, art galleries and museums scattered across the Atlantic provinces, it’s also easy to enjoy the days the weather wants you to be indoors. I’ve lived throughout Newfoundland, New Brunswick, and Nova Scotia. I have had the privilege of discovering so many places in and around. Where are you at? I’m a visual Artist... I love being online, it’s recreational drugs for your eyeballs. Easy to find yourself stuck to a screen, indulging until you’re overwhelmed. It’s important to detox sometimes. The ‘Studio In The Woods’, previously the creative space occupied by well known abstract expressionist Artist John Beardman, whose work naturally inspires imagination, is now an artistically unique vacation experience. Our culture on the east coast is rich with art, you never have to travel far to find inspiration, and along the beautiful coast of Cape Breton island is an amazing place to start.
